NOTICEBOARD
Creative expression allows us to explore the significance of death as it relates to our lives and loves. Occasionally in our own, but most often in the manufactured words and images of others, we find solace and significance: from the bitter-sweet knowledge of personal experience to the heroic exploration of the outer confines of spirituality and science. We'd love to hear about forthcoming events and launches that have the potential to touch us.

HOT NEWS!
I look forward to reading Nica Cornell's weekly column. Parents and "older" people can try to understand how the next generation sees the world at large and that they will have to cope with the mistakes we have made. Her column is fresh, well-written, with lots of enthusiasm and spunk... I suggest we need more writers... who "believe in their dreams".

LIFE CAN GET YOU ANYTIME
I had been thinking of something John Irving had said which would seem to sum up his philosophy as man and writer. Life was, he'd said, 'far too random, too dangerous, More than that... coincidences are not coincidences. The bizarre is so commonplace we should stop calling it bizarre.' Hmm.

MEXICAN ARTEFACTS TO BUY
Each 2nd of November Mexicans celebrate the death of their loved ones on the Day of the Dead (also known as All Souls Day). The next day, the 3rd of November is known as the Day of the Angels, and is specially reserved for remembering all the little children who have passed to the world beyond. Many decorative items are crafted in Mexico as colourful accompaniements to the unique centuries-old rituals and traditions held to honour their dead.
Check out the unusual and humorous (have you noticed how their skeletons are always grinning?) items of Mexican Folk Art available on this site by clicking on the gift icon below.
